There are two main types of rail extensions: lifting and straight extension. A lifting extension raises the rear of the rail about 20-30 mm off the ground, making it easier to turn the snowmobile especially on hard surfaces. A straight extension lengthens the rail in the direction of the slide rail, maintaining the original riding feel and stability.
